Structural / Civil Construction Inspector

EnTech is currently seeking a "Civil/Structural Construction Inspector” to join us full time.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspection for and not limited to miscellaneous reinforced structural & architectural concrete work, underground utility excavation and installation, asphalt concrete paving, landscaping, structural steel erection and installation, and some electrical, mechanical, and plumbing work
  • Reviewing project plans and specifications and preparing written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work
  • Ensuring inspections are in compliance with building standards, project specifications, and meet safety and compliance regulations
  • Preparing daily reports, punch list inspections, and participating in project schedule and invoice reviews
  • Working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Reviewing contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer
  • Reviewing project plans for constructability and preparing comments
  • Preparing work estimates, related sketches, and other required documentation
  • Knowledgeable in contract administration techniques to expedite contract work 
  • Ability to review plans for constructability and prepare comments
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or University
  • Minimum 7 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in diversified field construction inspection experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the NYC Building Code, and all other associated jurisdictional codes governing work in the City of New York
  • Ability to work Night and weekend shifts will be required
  • A valid Driver’s License
  • OSHA 30-hour certification
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License is desirable
  • Confined Space certification
  • Working knowledge of inspection and testing of mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and architectural systems 
  • NYC Local Law 52 scaffold certification 
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must pass a SWAC Background Check at a high level
  • Ability to pass a Background Check for Aeronautical (airside) access
  • Desirable certifications: Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1, ICC Structural Steel Bolting and Welding S-1, S-2, and AWS Certified Welding Inspector D1.1, D1.5

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$80,000 - $ 125,000
