Technical Writer

About the role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Technical Writer to join our editorial team and support EnTech’s efforts to secure work in the New York Metro area’s infrastructure and facilities markets. In this role, you will work closely with proposal managers, technical teams, and senior leadership to develop clear, compelling technical narratives—including management approaches, project understanding, and organizational structures—that effectively highlight our strengths, expertise, and value.
If you have a background in engineering or construction management, an exceptional ability to distill technical information into compelling and persuasive writing, and a strong knowledge of public sector procurement processes, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing and editing technical content for proposals, qualification packages, and other marketing deliverables with a focus on project understanding, technical approaches, and organizational structure
  • Reviewing RFPs, specifications, and other technical documents to understand client expectations and inform content development
  • Collaborating with technical leads to understand complex concepts and transform them into clear, concise, and persuasive narratives
  • Conducting interviews and research to support technical narrative development
  • Working with the editorial and marketing teams to maintain consistency in tone, stylem and messaging across all content
  • Supporting quality assurance reviews of technical narratives to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance with RFP requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience in the AEC industry with a focus on infrastructure and/or public buildings/facilities in the New York Metro area
  • Strong familiarity with public sector procurement process, for agencies such as the MTA, PANYNJ, NYCDOT, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, and NYCHA
  • Degree in engineering, construction management, technical writing, journalism, or a related field
  • Broad technical understanding of disciplines including civil, structural, environmental and geotechnical engineering, BIM/VDC, Resident Engineering Inspection (REI), and construction management
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, deadline-driven team
  • Experience writing technical content for large-scale public infrastructure or facility projects

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interview technical staff and translate insights into compelling copy
  • Versatility and comfort working across a wide range of technical topics and disciplines
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, error-free work

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$95,000-$110,000
