About the Role:
We are currently seeking a full-time “Senior Safety / EHS Professional." The ideal candidate will have extensive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) experience, preferably within water and wastewater construction projects. This is a field-based position responsible for providing safety oversight, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with project and agency safety requirements.

This is a field-based position responsible for providing safety oversight, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring compliance with project and agency safety requirements.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate and communicate with construction project stakeholders regarding safety requirements and activities.
- Review and assist in the preparation of the Construction Environmental Health and Safety Plan (EHASP).
- Provide safety and life-safety hazard inspections and instructions to contractors on site.
- Review contractors’ Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Perform detailed safety audits and ongoing safety monitoring of construction activities.
- Prepare Safe Work Plans (SWPs) for upcoming work in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Conduct accident and incident investigations.
- Review project JHAs and daily pre-task plans.
- Conduct project and vendor safety audits.
- Provide safety support and oversight, including routine audits and safety training for the client.
- Conduct meetings, briefings, and discussions regarding project safety-related issues.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and/or construction safety experience.
- Experience in the water and wastewater field, preferably on NYCDEP or similar major infrastructure projects.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) Certification.
- OSHA safety training/certification.
- Confined Space training/certification.
- Hazmat/HAZWOPER training or certification.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, hazard identification, and applicable safety regulations.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and safety training.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
