Field Inspector - Night Shift

About the Role:
The Field Inspector will provide on-site inspection services for a fire alarm replacement project in a public building environment. The inspector will be responsible for monitoring construction activities, verifying compliance with approved plans and specifications, and ensuring that fire alarm replacement work is properly coordinated with Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
The position requires evening/night shift availability, with working hours from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The successful candidate must have strong experience inspecting MEP systems in public buildings and be familiar with fire alarm installation, replacement, testing, and commissioning procedures.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
$60.00 - $65.00/ per hour

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform field inspections for fire alarm replacement work.
- Verify that installation work complies with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project requirements.
- Inspect and document work related to electrical and MEP system coordination.
- Monitor contractor activities and report deficiencies, non-compliance, or quality concerns.
- Review construction progress and prepare daily field inspection reports.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and building representatives.
- Observe testing, commissioning, and acceptance procedures for fire alarm systems.
- Ensure work is performed safely and with minimal disruption to building operations.
- Identify potential conflicts between fire alarm work and existing MEP systems.
- Support punch list development and closeout activities.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant field inspection experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree.
- OSHA 30 certification
- Ability to work the required shift: 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
- Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Demonstrated experience with public building projects.
- Strong knowledge of MEP system inspection, especially electrical and fire alarm systems.
- Experience with fire alarm replacement, upgrades, or retrofit projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and accurate inspection reports.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, fire codes, and safety requirements.
$60.00 - $65.00/ per hour
