Environmental Inspector

About the Role:
EnTech is seeking an experienced Environmental Inspector to support bridge rehabilitation and painting projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. The selected candidate will oversee environmental compliance activities related to bridge painting, lead paint removal, abrasive blasting, containment systems, and air monitoring programs on active construction sites.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing construction inspection on NYSDOT and/or NYCDOT projects, with a strong understanding of environmental compliance.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee environmental compliance activities on bridge painting and rehabilitation projects.
  • Perform and supervise air monitoring activities associated with construction operations.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project specifications, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractors, resident engineers, agency representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports, field documentation, and compliance records.
  • Monitor material handling, storage, transportation, and disposal activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and agency requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Construction Inspection experience on NYCDOT and/or NYSDOT projects.
  • Experience with bridge painting, lead paint removal, abrasive blasting, or related rehabilitation projects.
  • C3 Lead/Hazardous Paint Removal Certification.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER.
  • Additional environmental certifications preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work outdoors and commute to active construction environments.
  • Must drive to get to and from field office and work site. 

Estimated Annual Compensation:
$90,000-$128,000/year commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Various locations throughout New York City.
