Responsibilities:
Research/analyze feasibility of geotechnical projects & provide project setup/cost estimates
Perform foundation design/pile driving analysis & provide site seismic classification/ liquefaction evaluation
Conduct calculations and data analysis required for foundations, retaining structures, support of excavation, and underpinning design
Monitor structure deformation/ground settlement using geotechnical instrumentation
Evaluate soil properties, analyze collected data & provide forensic support
Execute instrumentation/monitoring & condition assessment programs for civil infrastructure
Prepare/review final submittals including geotechnical reports/shop drawings to support construction
Identify & accomplish geo-environmental site characterizations
Plan/schedule/coordinate & execute detailed phases of geotechnical investigations/testing & instrumentation programs/other technical work
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering
Minimum 1-year design experience on geotechnical compliance projects in NYC area
Expertise in advanced geotechnical engineering
Cutting-edge skills in shallow & deep foundation/shoring system/underpinning, floodwall & bulkhead designs in conformity with NYSDOT/NYCDDC/NYCDEP/NYCBC/FEMA standards/specifications/regulations
Strong analytical/numerical simulation ability to analyze soil-structure interaction
Proficient in Geoslope, SHAFT, SLOPE/W, AutoCAD, MicroStation, MathCAD & MS Office
Salary: $86,500 - $113,000/year
